So I have been over to Green Cross Training near Milton Keynes to help them out with a Level 3 First Aid at Work course. Started off with a high number of learners on Day 1 as we had a few people just here for the Level 2 emergency First Aid at Work course.

Started off having a little bit of fun! getting the group to do an ice breaker was a great way to know a little bit about them and introduce everyone. We were also joined by Chris and Julia who work for Green Cross Training as they were developing an online blended learning course and wanted to see how I delivered the Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work.

Got through the First day with no worries and everybody passed. I think everyone enjoyed it and seemed to learn everything they needed to. We also managed to get Chris and Julia involved and got some great feedback from them. They did struggle though when it came to the handcuff came, I think I lost count of how many times they got tangled up in the rope. Hopefully they got everything they need but they know where to come if they need any help.

Day 2 we had 8 learners which for me was a great number. Good enough for some team building games and a nice little group to get to know. The pace of the course slowed down a bit over day 2 and 3 this was because I had 1 unit to deliver over 2 days. So because of this we had a lot of games we could play and also did a lot of scenario based exercises to test their knowledge and confidence.

Both Day 2 and 3 was really fun I felt like I got to know the group really well and it was a good bond. It was nice to be so accepted by the Tesco employees, they were very warming and funny! \it was also nice to see that even though they have come from different stores and warehouse's they get on like they have worked together for a long while. It was really nice to see, so well done Tesco!

So in-between all of the fun and games we actually got some learning done. Managed to cover everything we needed to and went back over a few things from the first day. There knowledge was really good and hopefully they learned everything they need to know and they now have the skills and confidence to perform First Aid on other employees and customers. They managed to learn a lot about each other and about First Aid.

So I want to thank Green Cross Training for giving me a great group to teach and being so welcome and helpful when I was there, as well as Chris and Julia who were a pleasure to have observing the course. I also want to thank Tesco for employing a great bunch of staff from their store manager Zak to the great people on the shop floor, Amy, Judith, Becky, Jennifer and Sophie, Chris who works at Mount Farm and not forgetting Paul up at Welwyn Garden City who deals with all of the IT.

Last but by no means least I would like to thank all of the learners!! You are a crazy bunch but you were a pleasure to teach and it is amazing to have such a great group that it is easy to get along with. So thank you!!

Just to finish off here are a couple of selfies of that wonderful group.
