Mini Medics Part 5

So it was the last session of Mini Medics!!!! But because it was the last one we made it a fun one.

Yesterday the children learnt about how to put plasters on and how to bandage someone up, as you can imagine teaching 21 children is hard enough let alone giving them a bandage each. The enjoyed putting plasters on their friends and themselves, it was also nice to see them comforting each other making sure everyone was ok.

Then it came around to the bandages, which they all enjoyed. They bandaged each other up and made sure they were okay throughout, some struggled with tying knots so to help them out i taught a quick and easy way to tuck the bandage in. After we finished bandaging each other up, we all decided to bandage up Mrs Headley, which they enjoyed a lot.

They did an amazing job making sure she was okay, all bandaged up and some of them even got chairs to put her legs on and called the ambulance (Pretending of course) telling them where we are and what had happened.

It has been a great after school club over the 5 weeks and I am very grateful for having the pleasure to do it. I want to thank all of the children and staff at John Gibbard Lower school for having myself and John over the last 5 weeks and making us feel welcome.

The children I believed enjoyed it and I had a number of them come up to me at the end of the session thanking me for teaching them how to do First Aid.

All of the children will receive certificates and I am looking forward to handing them out in assembly on Thursday.

Thank you again John Gibbard.
