999 or 112??

I have been asked the questions which one is better? Well I will tell you now they are both the same; there are so many different myths and theories that one is better than the other.

Well they both do exactly the same and you will get the same response.

As a child we are all taught 999, this was introduced in the UK about 80 years ago and is the number that everyone knows. It will put you to police, fire or ambulance and in some cases the coastguard and mountain rescue.

112 is a number that’s not been in the UK that long, but it is used in all of Europe’s countries. It also works in a few other countries but mainly in Europe. One other good point about 112 is that it is programmed in all UK phones, which means if your phone is locked or hasn't got a sim card you can still call 112 and ask for the emergency services.

So to some it all up, 112 and 999 are the same! Doesn’t matter what you call if your in an emergency just make sure you call one!
